The NADA Controller consists of: - Vegsensor (turns Vegtherm off at ~ 80C), chrome handle on/off toggle switch, a "forgot-to-purge" buzzer, and two of our MFT timer relays (with their required 4-pin additional relays).
One MFT is set to correlate to observed engine coolant temperature, and is easily adjusted to user preference and/or seasonally. (For example, watch coolant gauge on a cold start, drive car, when coolant is up to operating temperature observe elapsed time. Set MFT accordingly).
The second MFT timer is for the "delay-off" for the "return" valve. Note that you can also set a "delay-on" with that timer, such that the return valve does not switch to veg at the same time as the supply valve, so if you are running a "return-to-tank" (veg tank, that is), you can minimize the amount of diesel going into the veg tank (and hence buy even less diesel!).
Requires user to "arm" system (switch to veg) when first starting engine, by turning on the toggle switch, but eliminates the need to remember to swtich to veg a few minutes after beginning to drive, and can therefore save money on purchased diesel fuel!
Delay-Off of "Return" valve:
MFT Timer Relay delays the shutoff of the return valve, so that veg oil is purged from the system before you park overnight. Requires user to switch back to diesel setting a few minutes away from home.
Any "Controller" offered by anyone has these same basic functions, and any of them require same user input. There is no display with this unit, it is simple, robust, and inexpensive. Users can add LED lights if desired, to indicate status of timers/valves.
